  • 1. How do I set my answering machine to pickup when it is connected with a fax machine?

In order for the answering machine to pickup properly, the ring count for the fax machine has to be 1 higher than the answering machine. Ex. If the answering machine is set to answer on 4 rings, then the fax machine needs to be set to 5 rings.

  • 2. How do I use call waiting?

When receiving another call, press [FLASH] on the handset. The current call is put on hold, and the other call is answered. You can press [FLASH] to go between the two calls as often as needed.

  • 3. What should I do if my handset doesn't charge?

Make sure the phone is firmly seated on the charger, and the battery indicator on handset is displayed. Also, make sure you are using rechargeable Ni-MH batteries. If that doesn't work, disconnect the AC adaptor from the charger, and reconnect. The plug may have become loose over time, or may not be fully inserted.

  • 4. What should I do if my handset displays a “No link to base Reconnect AC Adaptor” message?

Disconnect the AC adaptor from the unit, wait for a minute, and then reconnect. The plug may have become loose over time, or may not be fully inserted. If that does not work, try re-registering the handset, since another handset may have deregistered the handset in question.

  • 5. Why am I getting no dial tone?

Here are a few basic items to check for:
    - Check that the AC Adapter is plugged in.
    - Test the unit on different phone jack.
    - Replace telephone cord
    - Relocate the base unit away from devices that may interfere with the handset communicating with the base.

    Reset the telephone:
    - Remove the battery from the handset.
    - Disconnect the AC adapter and telephone line.
    - Leave the unit disconnected for 1 minute.
    - Place the battery back into the handset and place the handset on the base unit.
    - Reconnect the AC adatper and the telephone line.
