 1. With the DVD-RAM recorder, can I watch a program that I am recording from the beginning while recording to the end? Yes. DVD-RAM models have the Chasing Playback feature, which allows you to watch and record programs simultaneously.
2. Can I record from a VHS tape to DVD (or DVD to VHS)? Yes. DVD RAM models come equipped with the One-Touch Two-Way Dubbing feature. You are able to record from a VHS Tape to DVD (or DVD to VHS).
3. My TV turns off by itself. How do I correct this? Brief power outages may cause the TV to turn off on its own. If you are using a surge protector, try connecting the set directly to the wall outlet. If this does not correct the problem, you may need to have your TV serviced.
4. Why can't I get any sound from my TV? Make sure the TV is not in SAP mode and that the TV speakers are set to "on" in the Audio setup menu. If a cable box is being used, make sure the volume is turned up.
5. My TV is connected to the stereo/surround receiver and I get sound from the TV, but there is no sound coming from my stereo/surround system. What should I do? Make sure that you have connected the receiver to the audio output on the back of the TV, not the inputs.
6. I'm getting a big black box on my screen. How do I get it off? You have the unit in closed caption text mode. If you turn off this mode, the black box should disappear.
7. Why won't the tape eject from the VCR? Is the unit receiving power? Try the unit at a different electrical outlet. If the problem persists, it may need to be serviced.
8. When I play back a recording, why am I getting Spanish? The unit is in SAP mode. Put the VCR in stereo mode.
9. The program timer light on my combo unit keeps blinking. How do I make it stop? Set the time. If the time has been set, a timer program may be set to record and there is no tape in the unit. Either insert a blank tape or delete the timer program.
