11. If I buy two bases attached to the same phone number, will I be able to call one base (or its handsets) with the other?
No. Only intercom calling among handsets registered to the same base are possible.
-
12. How do I conference call using multiple handsets?
To listen in on a conversation, just pick up another handset and press talk. A maximum of 3 handsets from the same base can be used to talk to an outside party.
-
13. How do I increase the volume of the handset?
To adjust the volume of the handset during a call, press [↑] or [↓] on the handset. To adjust the ringer volume, press [MENU], [1][1], and press [↑] or [↓] to raise or lower the ringer volume.
-
14. My handset displays "New voice message". What does it mean, and how do I clear it?
The display means you’ve received a message on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. To hear the message, dial the voicemail number provided by your service provider, and follow the voice instructions for listening to your messages. Depending on your service provider, you may need to clear your voice mailbox to remove the notification.
-
15. What should I do if I push talk, and there’s no dial tone?
Disconnect the telephone cord from the main base and the wall. Insert both ends back in until you hear a click.
-
16. Will I damage the batteries if I kept my phone on the charger?
No. The batteries that come with your telephone do not suffer from the same memory effect that older batteries used to have. It is safe to keep the handset on the charger whenever it is not in use.
-
17. My handset displays "1 missed call" or "# missed calls". What does it mean, and how do I clear it?
The display means you’ve received a call that was unanswered, and the caller either didn't leave a message or left a message in your voicemail. If you have Caller ID, you can press [View CID] on the handset to see a list of received calls. To clear the handset indication, simply view all of the missed calls (calls without a check mark). To delete the received caller information, you can clear all messages by pressing [All erase] on the first Caller list screen, or delete individual calls by pressing [Erase] once the particular call is selected.
-
18. My handset displays the following message: "No link to base. Move closer to base, try again." What should I do?
Disconnect the AC adaptor from the unit, wait for a minute, and then reconnect. The plug may have become loose over time, or may not be fully inserted. If that does not work, try reregistering the handset, since another handset may have deregistered this handset.
-
19. How do I set my answering machine to pickup when it is connected with a fax machine?
In order for the answering machine to pickup properly, the ring count for the fax machine has to be 1 higher than the answering machine. Ex. If the answering machine is set to answer on 4 rings, then the fax machine needs to be set to 5 rings.
-
20. How do I use call waiting?
When receiving another call, press [FLASH] on the handset. The current call is put on hold, and the other call is answered. You can press [FLASH] to go between the two calls as often as needed.
