SECAUCUS, NJ (December 11, 2008) – When a new Major League Soccer stadium and waterfront complex opens in 2010 just south of Philadelphia, along the historic Delaware River in Chester, Pa., it will be “Powered by Panasonic.” The dominant use of Panasonic technologies throughout the new complex will be evident to its millions of visitors as Panasonic will be the exclusive provider of broadcast and TV production systems, large screen LED displays, security systems and point-of-sale systems. Panasonic's participation in the project will be reflected throughout the venue with stadium marks and logos in addition to branding on the main scoreboard and the LED signage.
Keystone Sports and Entertainment, LLC, the Major League Soccer (MLS) Philadelphia 2010 ownership group, will count on Panasonic as the “Official Technology Partner” to ensure fans get a world-class experience. “Panasonic is a name respected around the globe, recognized for their innovation in consumer electronics and business technology products,” said Nick Sakiewicz, CEO and Operating Partner of Keystone Sports and Entertainment. “This partnership will extend throughout the entire waterfront redevelopment project.”

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in the historic city of Chester, PA this week for the 18,500 seat multi-purpose soccer and sports stadium that will be constructed at the foot of the Commodore Barry Bridge, just 13 miles from downtown Philadelphia and easily accessible by public transportation and Interstate 95. The stadium will feature an 11,000-square-foot club, 30 suites, a built-in concert stage for world-class music shows, and a special 2,000 seat zone for the Sons of Ben supporters club. The new structure will have a waterfront park and plaza used for stadium entry and for city-sponsored events such as festivals. The new stadium is the centerpiece of a $500 million entertainment, retail, residential and commercial development covering more than 100 acres along the Delaware River waterfront.
