New Philadelphia Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex
To Use Large Screen Displays and Digital Signage From Panasonic
As the “Official Technology Partner”, Panasonic System Solutions Company
Will Help Create a World-Class Sports and Entertainment Experience
SECAUCUS, NJ (January 27, 2009) – When a new Major League Soccer stadium and waterfront complex opens in 2010 just south of Philadelphia, along the historic Delaware River in Chester, PA, it will incorporate large screen displays and digital signage from Panasonic System Solutions Company. The dominant use of Panasonic technologies throughout the new complex will be reflected with stadium marks, logos, and branding on the main scoreboard and LED signage. In addition to providing large screen displays and digital signage, Panasonic will be the exclusive provider of broadcast and TV production systems, security/surveillance systems, and point-of-sale systems.
As the large screen/digital signage provider, Panasonic is slated to supply its LED large screen boards that are built for flexibility, functionality and performance. The LED systems provide a wide angle of viewing and impressive image quality, even in direct sunlight. The module format allows the system to keep running if one panel needs to be replaced. Panasonic's digital signage solution provides an effective, user-friendly means of delivering dynamic messages to the right targets at chosen locations via a variety of display systems, including plasmas, LCDs and large screen boards.
Keystone Sports and Entertainment, LLC, the Major League Soccer (MLS) Philadelphia 2010 ownership group, will count on Panasonic as the “Official Technology Partner” to ensure fans get a world-class experience. “Panasonic is a name respected around the globe, recognized for their innovation in consumer electronics and business technology products,” said Nick Sakiewicz, CEO and Operating Partner of Keystone Sports and Entertainment. “This partnership will extend throughout the entire waterfront redevelopment project.”
Panasonic System Solutions Company has completed many enterprise level installations around the world and this new soccer stadium and complex will further expand the scope of facilities “Powered by Panasonic,” reflecting the breadth of technologies employed and also emphasizing Panasonic System Solutions Company's dedication to a systems-based, integrated approach. An area within the new complex called “The Panasonic Experience” will highlight the newest technology innovations for home and business. Visitors will be able to experience these technologies firsthand and how they help improve their daily lives.
“We are very excited to join with Keystone Sports and Entertainment, Major League Soccer and the city of Chester to build a state of the art stadium and mixed-use waterfront development that delivers a world-class technology experience,” said J.M. Allain, President of Panasonic System Solutions Company. “Panasonic is in a unique position to provide such a broad and comprehensive range of integrated systems employing best in breed technologies.”
A groundbreaking ceremony was held in the historic city of Chester, PA, in December for the 18,500 seat multi-purpose soccer and sports stadium that will be constructed at the foot of the Commodore Barry Bridge, just 13 miles from downtown Philadelphia. The stadium will feature an 11,000-square-foot club, 30 suites, a built-in concert stage for world-class music shows, and a special 2,000 seat zone for the Sons of Ben supporters club. The new stadium is the centerpiece of a $500 million entertainment, retail, residential and commercial development covering more than 100 acres along the Delaware River waterfront.
