CRN magazine is the leading channel publication providing news and analysis for VARs and other technology integrators.


An elite subset of CRN’s annual Women of the Channel issue, the “Power 100” designation is awarded to the highest ranking women holding the most prominent channel-focused positions in a vendor or solution provider organization. These women have made a name for themselves as influential leaders within their own company, and the IT channel as a whole.


This year’s Power 100 Women of the Channel were selected by the editors of CRN magazine from a field of applications and nominations from vendor channel organizations, distributors and solution providers.

A veteran of this list since 2006, Sheila O’Neil has worked in the channel for more than 20 years including five of those years as Panasonic’s vice president of channel sales. In 2010, O’Neil led the continued integration of four divisions of Panasonic (mobile computing, professional projectors, professional displays, and HD/3D video production) into one integrated channel program. This year, the company underwent additional organizational changes integrating the remaining business and professional product categories within Panasonic’s portfolio to create a new B2B solutions company focused on delivering solutions that help convert information into innovation.


This restructuring will help channel partners more easily navigate Panasonic’s large product portfolio and present them as bundled, more full-fledged solutions to offer their customers.


The new company, Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, will offer the complete suite of Panasonic business solutions, which address unified business communications, mobile computing, security and surveillance, retail point-of-sale, office productivity, high definition visual conferencing, visual communications (professional projectors, displays, digital signage) and HD and 3D video production.


“This year, I’m taking on the new role of managing relationships with our key distribution partners,” said O’Neil. “However, I’ll still be working closely with my colleague Bill Brennan, senior director, reseller channel, to help build a unified partner program to simplify doing business with Panasonic, and to help our partners equip their customers with complete solutions, not just products. Because we sell through the channel, we’re only as successful as our channel partners, so it’s important that we offer a comprehensive program that will help them grow their business.”


The “Power 100” Women of the Channel is now listed on CRN.com. The overall Women of the Channel also appears in the July 2012 issue of CRN magazine.
