New Generation WhisperValue™ Vent Fans Provide the Complete Package: Easy Installation, Energy Efficiency, Quality and Value
New WhisperValue™ is the ideal choice for residential multi-family construction.
Newark, NJ (August 22, 2013) – In an economy where value takes priority, Panasonic Eco Solutions North America introduces a new generation of WhisperValue™ and WhisperValue-Lite™ ventilation fans, providing builders and contractors with the complete package in easy installation, quality, and affordability for residential single, multi-family, and manufactured homes.
The five new models are the lowest profile ENERGY STAR® fans on the market, featuring a housing depth of just 3-3/8” to mount easily in a slim 2x4 (actually 3-1/2” deep) joist cavity or stud wall. The unique L-shaped bracket also simplifies installation, while providing strong support. UL approved radiation damper is available for fan only models in ceiling installation. The WhisperValue™ and WhisperValue Lite™ are also UL approved for wall mount, making them the ideal choice for multi-family applications. Wall installation reduces costs for builders by eliminating the need to incorporate a radiation damper when penetrating fire rated ceilings.
Panasonic will continue to offer a Universal-Can (U-Can) Contractor Pack for the new generation of WhisperValue™ and WhisperValue-Lite™ fans. The U-Can Contractor Pack allows contractors to install the housing of the fan right after the framing of the structure, and then the motor and grille can be installed at a later time when construction is complete. This provides flexibility during the construction process and allows contractors to store the components separately to minimize the risk of parts being lost or damaged onsite.
“At Panasonic, we strive to make it easy for builders, developers and contractors to grow their business, no matter what the residential project may be,” said Patricia Monks, Product Manager, Panasonic Eco Solutions North America. “Multi-family construction, in particular, has been setting the pace for the housing industry getting back on its feet, and a vent fan that is not only easy to install but will operate effectively is key. The new WhisperValue™ models fill an under-served need for a quality, mid-priced, quiet, energy-efficient, high CFM ventilation fan that is one of the most easy to install; and unlike competition, WhisperValue’s low profile housing design actually fits in a 2x4 stud bay, right out of the box.”
New models are able to achieve installed performance, having a high airflow circulation of 50, 80, or 100 CFM (cubic feet per minute) at extremely low noise levels at both .1” and .25” water gauge (w.g.) static pressure. The FV-08VSL3 and FV-10VSL3 80 and 100 CFM lighted models now feature a contemporary grille design with two 13-watt, self-ballasted GU24 base CFL lamps and a 4-watt night light.
All WhisperValue™ and WhisperValue Lite™ models are ENERGY STAR® rated and can be used to comply with ASHRAE 62.2, the ventilation platform adopted by LEED for Homes, ENERGY STAR® for Homes 3.0, California Title 24, and Washington Ventilation Code.
